History Making Waves: Join us for WTO Storytelling, Tues, 12/1

1 Dec 2009, 06:00pm-09:30pm

University Baptist Church
University Baptist Church: 4554 12th Ave NE (in the U district), Seattle, WA

Potluck Dinner: 6pm    Storytelling: 7-9:30pm
University Baptist Church: 4554 12th Ave NE (in the U district)

Join WTO protest veterans and today’s activists for a meal, stories of activism, victories and our collective hope for a more just world. The evening will include a variety of fun group activities, one-to-one conversations and an open mic-style program.

Come to listen and to share. Just about everyone has some story to tell about the WTO protests in Seattle in 1999 or their aftermath. Whether you were involved in 1999 or not, your stories are just as important as that tear gas tale.

This is part of the Seattle+10 week of activism and, as such, the vision for the evening includes not only space for reminiscing but also for extracting lessons learned to help us move forward in the next 10 years of working for peace and justice.

Bring some food and beverage to share along with your tales.
The event is free with a potluck dish – donations appreciated for minor costs.
